Your Guide to Injectable Dermal Fillers

We can often reverse the effects of aging with injectable dermal fillers.

By replacing the volume lost with time, injectable dermal fillers enhance shallow contours, soften facial creases, remove wrinkles and can improve the appearance of scars.

And, of course, they create beautiful, plump lips.

What are Injectable Fillers?

Fillers are gel-like substances that are injected by highly trained Licensed Aesthetic Injectors. Millions of men and women have chosen this treatment as a cost-effective alternative to surgery for anti-aging.

PRO TIP: By starting early, you’ll require less product than if you wait until your mid-50s! Your body starts to lose bone and collagen around age 26, so your mid 20s are a good time to begin maintenance injections.

There are several FDA approved filler products created with very specific and different ingredients. The most common filler ingredient is hyaluronic acid.

Hyaluronic Acid (HA)

Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring, hydrating substance that is already found in your skin. These fillers are typically soft and gel-like. Because the results are temporary, lasting 6 to 12 months or longer before the body gradually and naturally absorbs the particles, HA fillers are recommended for first time filler patients. FDA approved HA fillers include:

  • Juvéderm products: Juvéderm XC, VOLUMA, VOLBELLA, VOLLURE
  • Restylane products: Restylane, Restylane Silk, Restylane Lyft, Restylane Refyne, and Restylane Defyne
  • Resilient Hyaluronic Acid (RHA)(new!)

Other ingredients include:

  • Calcium Hydroxylapatite (CaHA)
  • Poly-L-lactic Acid
  • Polymethylmethacrylate (PMMA)
  • Autologous fat injections

Price Range

$675 – $825 per syringe

How Can Dermal Fillers Augment my Appearance?

Dermal fillers can do much more than smooth out signs of aging. They are widely used to:

  • Smooth out lines around nose and mouth (a.k.a. marionette lines, smile lines, and parentheses)
  • Enhance & restore volume to sunken cheeks or temples
  • Diminish vertical lip lines
  • Plump & enhance the lips
  • Smooth out a chin crease
  • Improve symmetry among facial features

Which Filler do I Need?

Our experienced Licensed Aesthetic Injectors craft the perfect plan for the results you’re looking for.

“Each product is uniquely formulated to have a certain texture, density, and injection depth, which means that certain fillers work better for certain areas of concern.” – American Board of Cosmetic Surgery

What Should I Expect During my Treatment?

The process includes a series of quick, easy injections performed by skilled Licensed Aesthetic Injectors.

After your consultation, your injection appointment will comprise of a thorough cleaning of the area, a topical anesthetic to numb the area prior to injection and precise and strategic injections with the specific amount of filler needed to produce the results you’re looking for.

You may be able to notice results immediately, depending on the treatment and product(s) used.

Some patients will experience temporary and mild bruising and swelling. You’re able to resume your normal activities right after treatment, but we may ask you to take the day off from exercise or other strenuous activity.

You should plan for touch-ups every 12-24 months, depending on the product you use.
