DR. SCOTT A. SMITH

Dr. Scott A. Smith grew up in Spokane, Washington and attended University High School. He then finished his undergraduate education at Carroll College in Helena, Montana where he met his wife, completed an honors thesis on breast cancer research, and graduated with the honors of magna cum laude.

Dr. Smith then attended Des Moines University, College of Osteopathic Medicine in Des Moines, Iowa where he was a member of the academic honors society Sigma Sigma Phi and he graduated in the top 10 percent of his medical school class.

He completed a Traditional Rotating Internship at Richmond Heights Hospital, Richmond Heights, Ohio. Dr. Smith’s dermatology residency training was at Case Western Reserve University which has been ranked as one of the top 10 Dermatology programs in the country by US News & World Report.

Dr. Scott A. Smith is Board Certified in Dermatology with the Added Qualification of Mohs Micrographic Surgery. Dr. Smith was one of the 1st 2 dermatologists in the country to earn this designation for Mohs surgery. In order to have these credentials he passed two Board exams, one in Dermatology and the other for the Added Qualification of Mohs Surgery. These tests were proctored by the American Osteopathic Board of Dermatology. He has also passed a Mohs Micrographic Surgery Exam proctored by the American Society for Mohs Surgery.

He has authored a textbook chapter and many articles in dermatology and dermatologic surgery.

Dr. Smith is a Clinical Assistant Professor in Dermatology for Washington State University Medical School as well as The University of Washington School of Medicine. He enjoys teaching and frequently has family practice residents, nurse practitioner students, or medical students rotating with him at his office.

Dr. Smith is currently a member of numerous medical societies including the American Academy of Dermatology, American Osteopathic College of Dermatology, American Society for Mohs Surgery, American Osteopathic Association, and Sigma Sigma Phi national scholastic and service fraternity.

PAUL HILL, ARNP

Paul, a longtime Spokane resident, is a board certified family nurse practitioner. He has extensive training in cosmetic injectables, dermal fillers, laser and light therapies, and radiofrequency treatments. He also specialized in Emergency Medicine.

Paul received his Master’s Degree in Nursing from Gonzaga University. His certifications and professional memberships include American Nurses Credentialing Center Certification, American Society of Laser Medicine & Surgery, Nurse Practitioner Group of Spokane, and ARNP’s United of Washington State.

Paul enjoys spending time with his family skiing and playing golf.

ALI MAXFIELD, PA-C

Ali was raised in Spokane, Washington. She graduated Cum Laude from Washington State University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in General Biological Sciences. Ali competed as a NCAA women’s soccer player while attending Washington State University and received numerous awards and accolades. She played one season professionally with the Vancouver Whitecaps FC.

Her passion for dermatology began while learning nail, hair, and skin conditions while working for Valley Dermatology as a Medical Assistant before applying to Physician Assistant School. She attained her Masters of Physician Assistant Studies from James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Virginia and is a Nationally Board Certified Physician Assistant.

Ali comes to us after working in Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary Surgery. She enjoys many outdoor activities including hiking, camping, skiing and golfing.

Jennifer Jordalen, PA-C

Jen was born and raised in Spokane, WA. She graduated from Mead High School while participating in running start at SFCC where she met her husband. She then completed her undergraduate education with honors summa cum laude at Eastern Washington University.

Her passion for medicine began at a young age where she went on to work in home health, emergency medicine, and rehabilitation. All while staying active in her community as a lead barista with Dutch Bros Coffee. Her favorite quote from The Dutch Creed being, “To talk health, happiness, and prosperity to every person you meet”.

She then attained her Master of Health Science with MEDEX Northwest Physician Assistant program with University of Washington here in Spokane. She is now a Nationally Board-Certified Physician Assistant.

Her passion for education was expanded through a teaching fellowship with UW MEDEX Northwest where she obtained her PA Facility Development Academy Certification of PA Educator Master Course One.

She comes to us now from post-acute care eager to continue growing her education and love for dermatology. She is working towards a goal of becoming Diplomate Fellowship Certified with the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants. Her daily essentials to good skincare are sunscreen, simplicity, and a smile! She enjoys hiking, board games, and spending time with her family.

SARAH HARWOOD, NP

Sarah is nationally certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners and specializes in medical dermatology. While originally from North Dakota, she has lived in North Idaho since 2010. Sarah received her Bachelor’s Degree in nursing from Lewis-Clark State College and went on to work as a registered nurse in critical care and interventional radiology. She then attained her Master’s Degree as a Nurse Practitioner in 2022 from Walden University.

Sarah’s favorite part of dermatology is seeing the physical transformations that take place. From treating chronic skin conditions, skin cancers, acne, or to simply help patients have vibrant skin. She truly enjoys all aspects of dermatology. She is passionate about building strong relationships of trust with her patients and is committed to providing excellent care. While not in the clinic, Sarah enjoys spending time outdoors with her family including boating, skiing and snowmobiling.

JACKIE LUCARELLI, RN

JACKIE LUCARELLI, RN-BSN

Jackie is an Aesthetic Nurse Specialist with over 15 years of aesthetic nursing experience. She has extensive knowledge in dermal fillers, toxins, laser therapies and IPL, microneedling with PRP, and coolsculpting.

She takes great pride in patient education and creating treatment plans for optimum outcomes.

Jackie relocated to Coeur d’Alene, Idaho from Tahoe, California in 2019. She has a great love of the outdoors including mountain biking, skiing, and hiking with her beloved golden retriever.

CAYLIE BACCINO, RN-BSN

Caylie has been involved in the aesthetic industry for the past 10 years. With a bachelors in nursing, she is dedicated to always providing the highest quality care.

As an aesthetic nurse injector, Caylie is passionate about restoring facial balancing due to the aging process. She’s dedicated to finding your inner sparkle that you may never knew existed or, have lost throughout the years.

She will achieve this safely while respecting the natural limitations and enhancing your natural look.

FARAH WEBSTER, MEDICAL AESTHETICIAN & COOLSCULPTING SPECIALIST

Farah is a native to Idaho and has been an active aesthetician since 2005. Farah has a passion for skin and it shows in her services. She believes that continuing education is vital to giving her clients the best service she can. “Knowing that you need to start with the correct skin care regime is key to skin care success.” Farah specializes in micro-needling, chemical peels, HydraFacial and most importantly customized skin care treatments. She believes that a treatment plan that is specific to the client is what gives them the best outcome.

Additionally, Farah is the go-to specialist in CoolSculpting. She will give you a personalized treatment plan and set you onto your path of eliminating the unwanted fat through our non-invasive procedure. The fact that Valley Dermatology has invested in two CoolSculpting machines is key. She recognizes that everyone’s time is valuable and excited that she can give great service in half the time.

During Farah’s free time, she enjoys spending time on the lake with family and friends. She is a proud mother of three children and the recent addition to her family; her new grandson!
